INTRODUCTION

A special era in John Brown University music-making took place decades after Sound Generation, and years after Joysong (but prior to the Apocalypse). Students of early 1990s, inspired by the do-it-yourself garage rock mentality of the time, gathered instruments and assembled in dorm rooms, rent houses and otherwise to create an alternate soundtrack for our college years. The results of our musical endeavors were mixed, but often memorable, and usually fun.

This is a place for collecting, archiving and sharing our music and our memories for all the ages (at least until the Apocalypse). The initial collection of memorabilia featured here is quite Demarais-centric, but I hope this batch of videos and mp3s will inspire you to hunt down more exhibits for this online museum, be it audio, video, photos, etc. (I would love to get MP3 albums from the likes of Allinaday, Hatleys, Staplegum, Dreadlock Philly, Boondogs, Glue, etc.) I also invite one and all to use the 'comments' to share your own recollections, music-related or not.

Events and albums are listed in reverse chronological order (don't miss the "Older Posts" button at the very bottom of the page or you'll miss a lot), you may also use the handy label links on the right to browse by person, year, band, etc. Feel free to suggest additional labels.

So turn up your speakers and peer into the past by way of cheap camcorders and pathetic microphones. Best do it now because the Apocalypse will soon be upon us.
